Well said, written Mark! But even when Events get back to normal, do we really need to get to the same scene as before? Large format events are difficult for both organizers and participants.
I think there is going to be even more large scale events, not less. From what I saw on the ground at SaaStr, Web Summit, and re:Invent, there was a huge interest in these events and all were oversubscribed. The reason is large events have a gravity to them. They bring all the prospects, all the partners, and all the press, which is harder to the smaller events to pull off as effectively unless it is a very narrow, well funded niche.
